The Final Countdown

As they say, time flies. As it turns out, they are right.

I leave for Europe in five days. In many ways, the reality is setting in: when I'm packing clothes and considering what I have room for, or when I'm saying bye to friends and thinking about being apart for so long. But in many ways, I know that the reality will only truly set in once I've landed in Amsterdam.

I will be away from everyone I know for four months and ten days. I understand that this is the experience of a lifetime, but that doesn't stop me from feeling unsure. Unsure what it will be like to land in a foriegn country, unsure how I'll navigate public transit, unsure if I can find a Chipotle.

The positives are overwhelming, though: I have the freedom to go wherever I want to go, see whatever I want to see, eat whatever I want to eat, and take as many photos as my camera will allow.

This is a dream come true, but not all dreams make sense or have a seamless plot. Join me on this blog as I explore Europe—and we can figure it out together.
